Trauma Therapy

Trauma can result from life-threatening or distressing events such as abuse, accidents, war experiences, or witnessing/being involved in terrorist attacks.

Experiencing trauma can lead to emotional difficulties, including PTSD, anxiety, guilt, shame, anger, and depression. It can also create physical challenges, such as sleep disturbances, chronic pain, or tension in the body. These effects can impact relationships, daily functioning, and overall wellbeing.

In trauma therapy, we work together to explore how past experiences are affecting you in the present. Using a personalised approach, we develop a toolkit of healthy coping strategies designed to:

  • Reduce the ongoing effects of trauma

  • Support emotional regulation and wellbeing

  • Address self-harm, suicidal thoughts, or addictions

Trauma therapy provides a safe, supportive space to process experiences, restore balance, and build resilience for everyday life.

Counselling

Everyone deserves to live a happy and fulfilled life, but sometimes life’s challenges can leave us feeling overwhelmed, anxious, or low.

I offer a safe, confidential, and non-judgemental space where you can talk openly and explore whatever is on your mind. I won’t tell you what to do or offer quick fixes instead, I believe that when you have space to reflect, you can begin to find your own clarity, strength, and direction.

Together, we can explore whatever is causing you distress or discomfort, including:

  • Anxiety or depression

  • Self-harm

  • Addictions

  • Low self-esteem or confidence

  • Relationship or family difficulties

  • Feeling lost, stuck, or unsure of yourself

Counselling offers time for you  to pause, breathe, and gently reconnect with what you need.

Psychoeducation & Training

Working within the therapeutic world means there is always more to learn and understand. Ongoing professional and personal development is vital to maintaining confidence, competence, and providing the best possible experience for clients.

I deliver bespoke online and face to face training focused on my specialism trauma and trauma-informed care. My workshops are designed to be practical, reflective, and accessible, helping practitioners deepen their understanding and apply trauma-informed principles safely and effectively.

Current Training Packages (4 hours each):

  • Understanding Trauma & Trauma-Informed Care
Explore the impact of trauma and how to create safe, supportive therapeutic spaces.

  • What Is Abuse? & Working with Disclosures
Understand different forms of abuse and how to respond ethically and sensitively to disclosures.

  • Introduction to Trauma Therapy & Trauma-Informed Practice

Each session includes space for reflection, discussion, and questions, creating a supportive learning environment for professionals at all stages of their journey.

Professional Clinical Supervision

Regular clinical supervision is essential to maintaining ethical, competent, and confident practice as a counsellor, therapist, or helping professional. It offers time to reflect on your work with clients, your professional growth, and your own wellbeing.

As required by professional bodies such as the BACP, supervision provides a supportive space to review your practice, celebrate your progress, and address any challenges in a safe and ethical environment.

I offer a warm, reflective, and professional space where you can explore your clinical work openly and honestly. Together, we can focus on your development, self-awareness, and the quality of care you bring to your clients.

With over 10 years’ experience in the therapeutic field — including working with clients who have experienced abuse and managing a team of counsellors.  I bring both depth and understanding to the supervision process.

I am also a qualified Clinical Supervisor, passionate about supporting the growth and wellbeing of other professionals.

De-Briefing & Wellbeing Support for Professionals

In addition to offering supervision for counsellors and therapists, I also provide de-briefing and wellbeing sessions for non-therapists and organisations.

These sessions are designed for professionals such as front line staff, teachers dietitians, psychologists, support workers, who support others and need a safe space to reflect, process, and recharge.

Workplace stress, targets, deadlines, and post-Covid working patterns have made emotional wellbeing more important than ever. Having personally experienced burnout in my 30’s I am passionate about helping others protect their wellbeing and maintain balance.

Through individual or group sessions, I support professionals and teams to:

  • Explore their experiences and emotional load

  • Build awareness of stress and burnout

  • Strengthen their self-care and resilience at work

Whether you’re a counsellor, health professional, or organisation, these sessions offer a restorative space to pause, reflect, and prioritise your wellbeing.
